Concrete Raised Garden Bed Molds - Plastic ABS Portland Cement based Forms
Make a long-lasting rot-proof raised garden bed by casting your own concrete panels with these abs durable plastic molds. These concrete forms have a removable pipe that forms a hole in the overlapping end of the cast garden box wall. Rebar is inserted in the holes to pin the corners together either in a straight line or at a 90 degree corner. I've been making these wooden molds and casting these concrete garden box panels for around 10 years now. 5 years ago I made a video showing my first wooden mold design from plywood. In the years since I've refined and simplified the design in an attempt to make them easier to build, and to also experiment with making the panels lighter.
Not everyone who wants a raised concrete garden bed has the tools or ability to make their own molds. That's where these new plastic forms come in. Now you don't have to build anything at all. If you can add water to a bag of concrete mix then you can make these panels. Read the detailed blog post instruction writeup that details how easy it is to make a raised garden bed that will last a lifetime.

Well Pump Dry Run Relay - I finally fixed it!
Переглядів 3,9 тис.5 місяців тому
Our shallow well jet pump continues to run and overheat when our well runs dry. In a previous video I tried to fix this by adding an additional thermostat on the pump motor. In this video I finally found a solution by integrating a dry run pump relay that detects a drop in current draw by the motor. The pump draws 4 amps when under load and pumping water. When the well runs dry the pump draws f...

See how these panels have survived the winter end the element...
Shallow Well Jet Pump Overheating Fix

Our shallow well jet pump continues to run and overheat when our well runs dry during a drought. Dear lord. I thought my dad was bad about forms for concrete. Yeah. A little bit over built, like a target is my dad and you is Empire State Building. However, with concrete, it’s way better to over build forms than under 💯. Honestly no shade at all.

    You are a genius! I'm doing something very similar to my shed currently and will have to divide the 16' into 3 compartments that will have their own entries. I like the idea of the hidden door bc that's where I'm be stacking come excess fencing I have. Once it's all done, I'll post a video or something. Foundation is already done. Doing the walls today!

    Great design and video, very clear presentation! A few additional thoughts: - Put plastic or paper down in the shop; protect the wood workbench, and it's easier to clean up the spills and spatters. - Avoid breathing the concrete dust; it's alkaline and has silica in it (damages lung tissue) and your body cannot dissolve and carry it away. May want a fan, or (see 9:45)a $40-ish half-mask respirator with P95 or P100 filters. - 6:40 this is a heavy load on the drill. Mix it with a heavy duty, 1/2" drill that won't burn up or have an empty battery.

    What’s wrong with cutting the tops of post with a sharp hand saw rather than four cuts and then the Last cut with a hand saw. Surely easier than messing about with multiple cuts with 2 different saws. Are people so used to power tools they refuse to use hand tools even when power are not suitable. Or is the skill of using hand tools dying ?

    June 18, 2024, 36" still not restocked yet. I've been wanting to do this project since I first saw these videos back in 2019. I'm definitely excited about the plastic forms as an option. I think that's a significant improvement over wood forms because you can mass produce these and get more of them out. It makes way more sense to me to sell the molds than the finished concrete forms. Also, some ideas for people to try: Aircrete Hempcrete Color Dyed Concrete Retaining Wall Gardens Above Ground Ponds Enjoy.

    My question, are they stackable? If I utilize cinder blocks, I'm able to stack them to a height that I do not need to bend as I garden over the next 15-20 yrs as I age. Four to five high at 8" each would be ideal for me.

    I wonder if using the double stacked raised beds inside a greenhouse? work? using the lava or vermiculite panels on bottom and the air crete panels on top...fill inside with old wood, limbs, leaves, etc. last remaining 10-12" with good compost for planting make it all longer lasting.

    • @MANaboutTOOLS
      @MANaboutTOOLS 17 днів тому

      If I was using joist hangers I would have. Then notched the rafter at the bottom for the slope angle. But, I was using a different type of hanger that is also nailed to the top of the lag bolt plate. If I was doing it again, I'd use the joist hanger with a notch in the rafter method.
